My jaw dropped when this car showed up in the mailbox...it is mind-blowing that cars like this can still turn up for someone in the right place at the right time.  This one even has the air dam intact, and it seems to be a ribbed plastic (?) design, unlike later versions.  This is a father-son project, Scott being the lucky kid who is the actual owner of this car.  They did a nice job of posing the car for these shots, obviously putting some thought into the cool location.
Father Sam gives some history on the car:
"Some general information: 100% Stock & Original "Granny" car. Never wrecked or painted. We purchased it with 86,000 miles, and it came with Original Title, Window Sticker, Protecto Plate, Owners Manual, Keys, etc.  307 V8 with Turbo 350 AT, Power Steering and functioning AC. Not one cut, crack or tear in the interior.

"This car even had bias ply tires and original shocks. The only thing we have done to the car so far was to replace the tires and ugly hubcaps. Near future plans include conversion to Disc Brakes and upgraded suspension"
( fswells@charter.net ) updated address 2-15

Judging from some of the other pictures he sent, he's not kidding about the condition...there isn't a speck of rust in trunk, door jambs, interior is spotless...just amazing.
Another superb '71 from John Zeek ( jzeek@optonline.net )
"My car is a '71, mini tubbed, 8 point cage, 12 bolt spool, rack and pinion. It is a very clean car..."

You can see some of the custom work, including the interesting cutout in the bench seat for the shifter.  Nice color, too!
You may remember this car from elsewhere on the site.  One look will tell you awesome progress has been made.  Owner Paul Hallmann: "Here are some updated pictures of my 1971 Ventura. I am still working on the interior, but the exterior is pretty much complete."
The arrow-straight sheet metal, mint nose and perfect front bumper alignment on this car make it look 'Better Than New' in my opinion.  Superb work, Paul!  He can be reached at PHallmann@CoorsTek.com
From Ed ( edjess11@netzero.com ) "Here are two pictures of my '71 Ventura 307 auto, am radio and rear defrost".

Ed gets back to us..."
Here are some better pictures of my car. The car was repainted in 1997 and it was not that good of a job. The engine is coming out and getting cleaned and painted as well as the engine compartment."  I do remember seeing the car posted on e-bay shortly after these pics came in, so maybe it's changed owners.
Last time around, we wondered out loud what became of the blue '72 that used to be in our ad section.  Well, the lucky new owner discovered his car on this site and answered our call for information...

"MY NAME IS ANDREW KNAPP FROM BERKELEY HEIGHTS N.J. I FIRST SAW THE CAR ON THIS WEBSITE LAST SUMMER. I OWN A NATIONAL SHOW WINNING 67 GTO, BUT MY VERY FIRST CAR WAS A 1972 VENTURA AND ALWAYS THOUGHT IT WOULD BE A GREAT TO HAVE ANOTHER ONE SOMEDAY.

"...AM PLANNING ON BUILDING A NICE DRIVER FOR ME AND MY FAMILY. I AM A BODY MAN BY TRADE SO I WANTED TO DO SOMETHING COMPLETE OPPOSITE OF MY GTO. I AM PLANNING ON PAINTING THIS CAR BLACK WITH CRAGAR SS WHEELS. I HAVE A 74 GTO HOOD FOR IT. I HAVE A 455 AUTOMATIC THAT I AM PLANNING ON PUTTING BACK TOGETHER WITH NITROUS. IT HAS VERY LITTLE RUST, THE TRUNK IS PERFECT. I PURCHASED IT FROM THE ORIGINAL FAMILY.

"FEEL FREE TO CONTACT ME AT YODAKNAPP@COMCAST.NET  CHECK OUT MY GTO IN HIGH PERF. PONTIAC DEC 04 PAGE 54, WE ALSO TOOK BEST MODIFIED 1999 GTO NATIONALS IN N.J. I HAVE 5 GOLD CONCOURSE AWARDS WITH THIS CAR. I DON'T DRIVE IT AS MUCH AS I WOULD LIKE, SO MY VENTURA IS GOING TO BE A GREAT PROJECT AND DRIVER FOR ME (March 05)"
Thank goodness this solid car ended up with such a capable owner! -Ro

The maroon car on the right may have been sold locally (near Little Rock, AK); I would be curious about its fate as well, as I was working with the seller in 2004 to help establish a price.  It's included here for the unique original color, which we haven't documented before...
(L) From Deltia Hyral ( deltiahyral@msn.com ) "Here's some pictures of my Pontiac, when I got it, it was an ugly brown. It had a 307 which I swapped out for a 350 with an Edelbrock power package, Flowmasters, and a B&M shift kit that chirps like a bird.  This is a strong running daily driver that will put these little Hondas in their place. Next upgrades include floor shifter, bucket seats and a bigger camshaft. Enjoy."  Woe be to the little Honda that ends up under the massive tires of this ride!

(R) Ken's trying to get his hands on a better camera to get some shots from the drag strip...  He says: "...saw your website...cool!  I've owned this car for 20 yrs. Check out Car Domain for all the pics...I would be honored to have it on your site...  Ken Helton ( nita1@dtccom.net )"
We're the ones honored to feature his machine at long last.

Your skeptical webmaster took one look at the dirt road and figured, hey, maybe this guy just tossed a smoke bomb under his car, but Dan sets the record straight  :-)
"Hi all, I just thought I would send in a gratuitous burnout picture, they always make me feel warm and fuzzy. Haven't you ever seen the Dukes of Hazzard?  No, it's a genuine smoke show, the road out front of my place is pretty packed...we have been here like12 years and that's the first time I ever did one out front.  I took my 7 year old daughter to Mid Michigan Motorplex on my vacation for Test and Tune Night and then the Wolverine Nationals (her first times ever at the track) and I could not believe how much she loved the burnouts, so I just had to show off a little,...right.  Have fun, the website is sure getting big, excellent job! Dan Clark ( Flamelayer@aol.com )"
  (L) Jimkelleyl@aol.com spotted this built '71at a car show and apparently put his camera phone to work.  Ain't technology wonderful!
